“The Beach” everywhere else I’ve been: heat, sun and swimsuits, a non-stop outdoor summer party. “The beach” where I live now: freezing cold water, gardens of green sea anemones and giant starfish, black jagged spires of rock, towering ancient trees, dark grey skies that will deluge you with rain every single time and possibly also pelt you with hail even in the summer.
